Agnes’ Don’t Breaking My Heart is pure EPIC DANCE. The beats on this is just crazy and epic, kinda overshadows Leona’s Collide (which is quite a poor single after the controversy it was embroiled in).

Kimbra, a new talent from Down Under, cutesy pop, very much sounding like a Janelle Monae but still all the same – enjoyable. If only Antigone would come back with a follow-up.

Always had a soft spot for her, reminds me of days when I was still in school and how Hotel Paper would tide me through tougher times. Didn’t really enjoy her country phase (but hey, everyone needs to explore the possibilities), and now she’s back with Loud Music.

Promising and very typically Michelle, its almost a collective sigh of relief that she is back with this single, nothing revolutionary just sweet, loud, music.

I say aye to Marina and the Diamonds’ bursting through with a new album concept Electra Heart. With Part 1 being Fear and Loathing while the second one goes Radioactive.

Both different end of the pop spectrum to the pop sound offering – one of down-tempo self contemplative, manipulative while the other of gusty rebel free ranging dance beat. All of this never losing sight of her ground work for her new music – the obsession with the grand American dream. Can we blame her, as well put by xolondon .

I can’t wait for the unveiling.

My personal favorite from Les Follies, when Kylie sang Eurythmics’ There Must Be An Angel, such a triumphant moment during the concert for Kylie and the fans. I was truly feeling the love amongst the many at the O2 Arena in the UK.

Through the current crop of strong female releases (Lady Gaga, Beyonce and what we have not) the only song that seems to soothe through all of this is Miss Nicole Scherzinger. Right There is a delightfully laidback track with a lazy beat but oh-so-effective. The only downside, 50 Cent.

This was when pop was at its best, campy, loud, fun and innocent. Atomic Kitten joins the league of many a-stable of UK bands that had chart success but soon fizzled away. Their longevity was alas short lived, nonetheless they were great, relying on covers of classic songs to create chart success. I thought Right Now was THE single back in the day, it was a fast thumping track, easy dance-out-loud song that gave for a good first single – heck I took notice.

A simmering hotpot of personal lessons and tender moments, from CocknBullKid, with her debut Adulthood. Long awaited I must say but underrated. While the critics are torn apart with her debut that took quite a while to push out, CocknBullKid (aka Anita Blay) has definitely veered away from her original sound.

I like Adulthood as an album, it is sugary sweet, tame and nice enough – a quality slice of pop production. Highlights for me would have to be title-track Adulthood, One-Eyed Closed and Distractions. She is reminiscent of a young Gabrielle and Des’ree, but a more cutting edge version of them.

I still say Anita Blay has put out a nice enough album, amidst those that are trying to standout with their sound, CocknBullKid has stuck true to herself. Only gripe – the exclusion of previously released tracks like On My Own and I’m Not Sorry. Caused, I presume by the shift in record label.

I’d half expected her to take a more classic throwback sound harkening back to the 60′s with clapper dresses and sweet pop sounds. But she has gone for a more grunge underground dance pop sound, which is interesting and slightly refreshing -  this veering away from what the two other Aloud alumni has done (Nadine and Cheryl).

But all said and done, seeing if this will rise or tank would be key. Afterall this is the most strongest outing by an Aloud member (thanks no less in part to dance DJ extraordinaire, Diplo). I’m not wholly sure Nicola can carry off something like this, but this looks promising. She has always been in my opinion, had a awkward place in the pop world and this is just cementing the fact that she just might be an ‘awkward out-of-place pop princess’ in the making. Intriguing indeed.

Oh I like the video too, colourful, fun and nifty dance moves – cool beans.
