flight has a live of its own, if you do not take control, you will lose it and fucking crash. simple.

the fact of the matter is, the life is stagnated like those puddles where aedes mosquitoes grow their potent larvae which in turn gives birth to them killer offsprings. it is not funny when you can compare life to mosquitoes.

happy and surprising was your 20th on the 24th.

nadia the mastermind and sam the pleasantly surprised.

Under the Blacklight

August 23, 2007

Rilo Kiley’s Under the Blacklight.

at once gritty with tracks like the moneymaker and smoke detector.

at once a dance record with tracks like dejalo.

magical soundscapes on tracks like dreamworld.

a sappy love record on tracks like silver lining and close call.

overall a different rilo kiley record with shorter track times. which is a waste.

old world new found

August 16, 2007

Siobhan Donaghy will be starring in the West End’s version of RENT as Mimi Marquez. Directed by William Baker, Kylie Minogue’s art director for years. It would be nice to see the Brits’ take on this long standing American musical.

oh wanderlust fly to me london now.

as ping and sam would remember, Mimi Marquez was played by Rosario Dawson in the movie version which we scoffed at quite often.

and siobhan has assured us that the Ghosts project is not about to end just yet on her myspace blog. this would definitely create more buzz around siobhan and her music.

on with the newfound:

M.I.A.’s new video for single Jimmy. a heady mix of indian and disco grooves, the video sees M.I.A. glamming it up and no more running around the streets and jungle of India and Sri Lanka. instead this time she is a goddess with many hands and pretty funky dance moves to boot. well done!

watch:

Bat For Lashes

August 5, 2007

okay, back to regular broadcasting.

the sunday burns brightly and oozing sunshine madness. Whatever happened to them erratic weather patterns?

anyways today’s music deliverance comes in the form of Bat For Lashes.

What’s A Girl To Do.

the british music scene can be at one time excruciatingly cheesy and full of crap people but at sometimes produce great music and musical acts. it too does not hurt that they’ve always had a burgeoning indie music scene. to them, indie acts are either to be lauded over or totally ignored or to faithfully enjoy moderate success for good. and indie acts crossing over to the mainstream are pretty common in the UK.

Bat For Lashes is Natasha Khan a multi-instrumentalist, visual artist. her music blends mystical beats and rhythms giving her a distinct laconic taste to her music and personality. and one point brooding and the other haunting what’s a girl to do is the perfect song to hum along when feeling a little blue and a tad bit psychotic.

the video takes a very interesting stab at the all familiar tale of little red riding hood. in the sense that you see Natasha doing an innocent task of just riding a bicycle while all around her masked in man in the big bad wolf mask rides around her and do stunts. then she coos as the camera stays at a zoomed-out angle, “whats a girl to do”. haunting.
