indiemind goes neon fantastic

having the external hard disk crash in mid use does no good for the mind. and no good for the obligation that is a blog of sorts. not like this ever gets anywhere or read through for good measure. but i do hope that this gets somewhere. not that i am fame hungry or anything. but i just like to spread the word that there is good music out there and not your usual saturated buttered off-the-factory-line music. though i can’t compete with the better informed music bloggers out there but i think i get by.

to inundate this void of pictures and music, i have decided that i shall mull over old photos from my photobucket. which has decided to finally work with me and is much faster sailing. and oh the occasional listen to itunes radio is such a sweet reprieve from the music that is on there. here goes my hand at photo blogging, which means, just blogging with a wad of photos and wild and hilarious comments.

firstly there is this, the founding of blog of sorts, indiemind.  an idea in the midst of development, changing the main banner head that is, to this one. thoughts?

okay this has been a tiring enough job to accomplish. and a silly one at that. and i have covered almost every album there is in my photobucket album. bear in mind these are all old photos of long ago.

harken back on Roisin Murphy

since i have been so wrapped up in roisin’s comeback with her second solo effort, i have decided to do a harken back on her. basically i am just harkening back on roisin’s older stuff as in her first solo effort, ruby blue.

ruby blue, released on Echo Records, was a great first solo record from roisin after her departure from Moloko. she released two singles from that album. namely, If We’re In Love and Sow Into You.

today’s harken back features her second video, Sow Into You. Sow Into You is a great second video from roisin. it sees roisin dancing around by a white screen with quirky costumes and moveable hats and wigs.

Overpowered – Roisin Murphy

This came out of nowhere. Been rather out of sync and rather out of touch with Roisin news. Till my music-go-to guy zuzz informed me that her new single Overpowered has been leaked. He kindly sent me the leaked single and here i am doing a mini feature.

Overpowered is a really good slowburn single. The beats on this track are very different from her previous singles, If We’re In Love and Sow Into You. This single is definitely more mainstream sounding and has less quirk in it. It has a very catchy bass and beat to it almost bordering hypnotizing. Kinda like a lasso that hooks you up and never lets go.

Having worked with new producers on this one, namely Bugz in the Attic and leaving Echo Records for greener pastures, we will definitely see more of Roisin later this year.

Her second single is slated for release in July while the album drops in October.

Can’t hardly wait.

So You Say

Siobhan Donaghy’s second single is set for release on the 18th of June in the UK. The video just released is loosely based on David Lynch’s movie Inland Empire. Its haunting almost to the point of ghostly the ending is quite the surprise.

This is one of Siobhan’s more visually stunning video with the effects and all. As cited in recent interviews, the song is basically about a relationship Siobhan had had for three years that ended. The name Adam she sings about in the song is not reference to her ex but instead she used it as a general term for guys ( Adam being the first man created) . This was so that the song could have a more universal feel to it. At the end you get  smart lyrics combined with a catchy chorus and musically beautiful and an amazing video to boot.

I do hope this is the single that will launch her.
